Firefox – PPC G4 optimize

Firefox is a open source web browser. That means you can go download it’s source code and modify it to your liking; as long as you rerelease the source code you modify. If you intend to make the modified version of Firefox public.

However, I am more interested with Firefox which is compiled with optimization for PowerPC G4 processor. And I have found it and am using it. It seems to be more responsive. Maybe it is just psychological speed breakthrough. But, there are methods to analyze and compare the performance. You can get it from a .mac homepage.

Mac Os X development tools provides the powerful toolkit to do performance analysis, tuning and debuging.

Sad to say, I do not have the time yet to do this. When I do, will definately post the results here.

Love the Firefox – PPC logo.
