big apple

New York, New York. It is a dream like place.

spotlight for gmail

For the uninitiated, Spotlight is a feature in Mac Os X Tiger. It is a search function which goes beyond matching filenames. Now you can have cryptic filenames, yet still be able to find the documents or data you want on the harddisk.
Now, using gmail as storage media is not something new. We have gmailfs [...]

submarine cable operation

Ever wondered how your computer is connected with the rest of the world? Bulk of the traffics is carried by submarine cables. There are different kinds of cable used, most new one would use (dark) fibre optics. I won’t go there.
I am sure you remember the nationwide outage of streamyx last month. Well it wasn’t [...]

emergency lane

What would you do when you see someone drowning? How would you feel? Ok, lets say you can swim and there are some floats available there. Would you swim with the floats to get save the peson? Or would you just stand and watch and don’t do anything at all.
Recently there is an advertisment on [...]
