I am down with some kind of flu. As far as I know, I have no contact with life poultry nor went anywhere near the market. Anyhow, that is besides the point.
When it comes to major festivals in Malaysia, it seems that curses comes along with it. First of all we have the horrible traffic all along the “highway”. If you are lucky to survive the travelling without being scathed by the horrific accident and death rate, you still have to watch out for men in blue/white with Saya Anti-Rasuah badge. Watched out in the sense, they are looking out for some extra pocket money. I have heard a first hand account tonight where and innocent motorist being slap with a summon for jumping the red light where else that didn’t happened.
If it is me, I’ll fight it out in the court. These bad apples need to be rooted out!
Please note, no bribes have been given, and accused offender refuse to sign the summon.
Bane or boon? Your choice.
Mostly Boon:
1. For Proton. Malaysians are ‘forced’ to drive our very proud national car every festive season at our very proud highways due to the inefficient public transport system.
2. For the Boys in Blue. 111km/hr? Kena jugak! Takda kompromi…except maybe by over a cup of coffee…
3. For politicians. All the feel-good factor came back. Forget ‘nude squats’. Forget ‘Moorthy’. PM promises ‘justice to all’. Everyone is happy. Even Tsu Koon is shaking hands with Kong Choy.
Oh…I missed this-Get well soon, matey!
Thanks howsy. Ah I forgot the super sub-standard national cars. May as well rename it coffin on wheels (COW). Gee that sounds like Semi Value bullock cart.
First, take care of your health. It’s epidemic as many of my friends and my wife is also down with fever/flu.
The culture and “Give-and-Take” is within our system and processes. It will not and cannot be eradicated no matter how hard tried.
The essence is survival and materialistics need. Unless the per capita income can match Singapore, then corruption and “Takes” will be minimised; never eradicated.
Live with it guy!
Hi! It’s the 5th, and I hope you have recovered by now. The CNY heatwave probably got to you earlier. Or is it the lack of sleep and high stress from blogging? :)
Festivals may be a boon to some people in uniform but it sure is a bane for old folks enjoying a get-together through a game of mahjong.
I thought that free hair-cut meted out was the real icing on the cake after all the bad press – it’s like these guys just love the free publicity and a good challenge.
So, instead of the force focusing on “cops versus robbers & bad guys”, it is season two for “cops versus Joe public”.
Is it any wonder there are so many snatch thieves and murderers running loose in this country?
