Dear friends,

There have been many changes for the past two weeks. I have moved to Kuala Lumpur from Johor Bahru. Been trying to adept to the new place, culture, environment, etc. Also had try to settle in as fast as I could.

I’ll leave out the nitty gritty details of my move to Kuala Lumpur as this is not the purpose of this blog. However, I would like to stress that I have no personal Internet connection since I moved here. But am getting it soon.

I am not sure about my future blogging frequency, but I am itching to get back in action. However, there are many constrains, especially time and energy. I would not be doing day time blogging for the foreseeable future, save weekends and when matters of great importance calls for it.

I hope to get back to blogging within the next week, but subjected to the a snail called TM Nut.

What spark this action? I had an email from long lost fellow Malaysian Linux user, Azmeen, who check with me the possibility of removing the said policy. After deliberating for about 5 minutes, I thought I would give it a try.

Dear friends and foes (if you are, please identify yourself, so I can label you as such) a like,

I am sorry for the silence from end of last year. There have been a lot of soul searching to find a new direction for my blogging. I can’t keep up with reactionary blogging (i.e. keeping up with current events), in depth essays have proof to be very time consuming as well, but at least it is not limited to the time frame when the news is hot in reactionary blogging. That does not mean I am purging reactionary blogging entirely.

I have attempted a series of essays/articles on bird flu pandemic preparation, but never got to the last part. I still owe LittleBird and others, a follow up essay on the late Nyonya Tahir, Moorthy and Syariah laws. I have been working on that, background reading and research mostly. That has lead me to another realm which I have noticed but didn’t have the resources to enter until now.

The new realm isn’t really a new realm. I have been poking my nose into it now and then here and there although I am totally inadequate to delve with the subject matter. You can’t even call me an amateur in the field. But, that will not stop me from raising awareness and hopefully be a catalyst for a change in the society at large.

Laws, written and unwritten governs our everyday life. Yet, we never saw much of the written law. Why? Why isn’t the society interested with the very thing which determine how they drive their cars, the distance between your house and the gate, what language your children learn in school, and the list goes on and on. Why are we so illiterate about the very thing that governs us?

I will give two general reasons here today, as these are part of my new objectives.

Cost of statutes, with seemingly no benefits/usefulness.

The myth that laws and language of lawyers are in cryptic codes.

For the first reason of the statues illiteracy, I will make laws available online for FREE. No conditions attached. Download and distribute at will. Requests are welcome and demands will be fulfil on best effort (i.e. on my own sweet time). A list of some of the statues I have to wet your appetite; Internal Security Act 1960, Official Secret Act 1972, Judges’ Remuneration Act 1971, Local Government Elections 1960, all 5 Syariah Acts for Federal Territory, etc.

For the second reason, it is really links to the first. You fear what you don’t know. Familiarity breeds contempt or “respect and knowledge”. The outcome will be determine by you and I in our responses.

There’s a saying that goes, work yourself out of job. This principal will I adapt to blogging, blogging yourself out of topics. I am hoping that this will be a spark that Malaysian socio-political blog-sphere will embrace. Sprinkle and enlighten your readers with the relevant laws. Read and digest it. Shine light on the repressive, draconian, broad and powerful laws that impinge on human rights, laws of natural justice, and common sense.

This is not my exit from political blogging. But I want to redirect it into the head wind of socio-economic. What hurts the people most is the economy. I dare say, a large portion of the voters vote according to their pockets and not brains. This is among my grand intentions, but it yet maybe another failed and incomplete intentions.

The road to hell is path with good intentions, therefore, we need check and balance and constantly check our motives. You are welcome to email me or leave comments here. Bug me if you wish.

Let us not give up hope for the future generations!

I have been in formed by LittleBird (a registered user) that there is a German Shepherd abandon near Dang Wangi Police Station, next to Caltex. The poor dog is usually seen around 8 am. So, be there and take the doggy back to a good home.

For those who wonder what is the sex of the poor German Shepherd, LittleBird, has this to say:

In any event, gender of the dog doesn’t really matter. They are just wonderful creatures. Help kick start dog year yuh?

When the upgrade have been completed, it will be announce here.

Update : Upgrade is completed at this stage. There are a few issues unresolve though. It is peripheral instead of major problem. One concerning everybody which is the WP Tiger Administration plugin. It is deactivated at this time. So, we are having default WordPress 2.0 Admin console for you. <del>The second issues is really concerning me only.</del> My prob is fixed.

Do shout out if you find any problems. Thanks.

There was a major network outage at the data centre hosting my website. You don’t have to guess who’s network it is on. It is TM NUT! Even jeffooi.com <del>is</del> was down.

I realised it about 11 am. Ping packets lost is between 85% and 90% although the ping response for those who didn’t get suck into the black hole of TM NUT is very fast, but useless!

<del>As I am writing this post, the network issue is not letting up.</del> Will I get some kind of compensation for this? I don’t know when I am going to be able to post this up the blog. So, I am posting this on my backup blog. Not going to post anything here other then really critical info when needed.

Redundancy is something you need in the world of Internet. Wonder TM NUT knows the meaning of that word.

Update : The network is up now.
